Ingredients
For the Bulgogi Striploin
Chilled striploin, thinly sliced 500g
Soy sauce 4 tbsp
Sesame oil 1 tbsp
Brown sugar 1 tbsp
Garlic cloves, minced 3
Fresh ginger, grated 1 tsp
Pear or apple, grated 1/2
Black pepper 1/2 tsp
Cooking oil 1 tbsp
For the Bowl
Cooked rice 4 cups
Kimchi 1 cup
Cucumber, thinly sliced 1
Carrot, julienned 1
Spring onions, sliced 2
Sesame seeds 1 tbsp
Cooking Method
Step 01
Slice the striploin thinly against the grain for a tender bite.
Step 02
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, grated pear and black pepper. Add the sliced beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 03
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook the marinated beef until browned and caramelised, about 3–5 minutes.
Step 04
Prepare the rice bowls by arranging cooked rice, kimchi, sliced cucumber and carrots.
Step 05
Top each bowl with the cooked striploin beef and garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds.
Step 06
Serve warm and enjoy.
